Warner Music Group Corp. (NASDAQ: WMG) increased its quarterly dividend to $0.20 per share from $0.19, a 5.26% rise. The shares traded ex-dividend on Aug. 20, 2026.

The new rate equates to an annualized dividend of $0.80 per share. Based on a share price of $27.13, the forward annual yield is 2.95%.

The increase applies to Warner Music Group’s regular quarterly dividend and extends the company’s record of annual dividend growth to five consecutive years. The board declared the distribution for both Class A and Class B common stock, according to the company’s regulatory filing. Warner Music Group’s SEC filing

Business backdrop

Warner Music Group did not give a specific reason for the dividend increase. The move, however, accompanied a fiscal third-quarter report showing growth across its Recorded Music and Music Publishing operations. Management attributed the performance partly to subscription-streaming growth, improved terms with digital-service providers and cost-saving measures. Chief Executive Robert Kyncl said the company’s recent performance reflected subscription-streaming growth, market-share gains and operating leverage. The company also reported stronger operating cash flow for the quarter, an important source of funding for dividends, investment and debt obligations. The results do not guarantee future dividend increases, but they provide context for the board’s decision to raise the payout.

Warner Music Group owns and operates recorded-music labels and music-publishing businesses. Its financial performance is influenced by streaming consumption, licensing terms, the success of new releases and its ability to acquire and monetize music catalogs. The company’s latest quarterly filing also shows that catalog investment remains a meaningful use of capital alongside shareholder distributions. Warner Music Group’s quarterly report

What it means for income investors

The increase lifts annual dividend income by $0.04 per share at the new quarterly rate. Investors purchasing shares on or after the Aug. 20 ex-dividend date are not entitled to the associated quarterly payment.

Warner Music Group carries a dividend-safety score of 68 out of 100 and a grade of C. Those measures suggest investors should weigh the longer payout-growth record against the company’s operating needs and business risks; neither the score nor the five-year growth streak guarantees that the dividend will be maintained.
