Wingstop Raises Quarterly Dividend 10% to $0.33

Wingstop Inc. (NASDAQ: WING) raised its quarterly dividend by 10% to $0.33 per share from $0.30. The shares traded ex-dividend on Aug. 14, 2026.

The increase lifts the company’s forward annual dividend to $1.32 per share. At a share price of $116.84, that equates to a forward annual yield of 1.14%.

The latest action extends Wingstop’s record of consecutive annual dividend growth to eight years. It also continues the restaurant chain’s practice of returning capital through regular cash distributions while expanding its store base.

Business context

Wingstop described the dividend declaration as recognition of its strong cash-flow generation and commitment to returning value to shareholders. The company operates a predominantly franchised business: about 98% of its restaurants were franchisee-owned as of the end of its fiscal second quarter. That structure generally limits the amount of corporate capital required to open most new locations. Wingstop second-quarter results

The dividend increase came alongside mixed operating trends. In the fiscal second quarter, Wingstop reported higher systemwide sales, revenue, net income and adjusted EBITDA, supported in part by new restaurant openings. Domestic same-store sales declined, however, indicating softer sales at established U.S. locations even as the overall system continued to expand. Wingstop Form 10-Q

Wingstop’s highly franchised model generates much of its revenue from royalties, franchise fees and advertising contributions rather than direct restaurant sales. The company said in its regulatory filing that it did not expect restrictions in its debt agreements to interfere with its regular quarterly dividend program, while noting that future declarations remain subject to board discretion. What it means for income investors

The higher payment adds $0.03 per share to each quarterly distribution and $0.12 per share on an annualized basis. The 1.14% forward yield remains modest compared with many traditional income stocks, making the eight-year growth record more central to the dividend profile than the current yield alone.

The dividend has a safety score of 84 out of 100 and an A safety grade. Those measures, together with the increase, point to a comparatively strong current distribution profile, though the board retains authority over future payments.
